Second article on hospital antibiotic use in Scotland during COVID-19 published
Clinicians from 15 hospitals across 8 health boards participated in this national study. In this paper we examine in more detail the factors associated with antibiotic prescribing for suspected respiratory tract infection during the first wave of the pandemic. We also evaluated the nature and dynamics of prescribing in hospitalised patients with suspected and proven COVID-19 infection.
This follows on from publication of our initial article looking at prevalence of antibiotic use.
