General Practitioner representative

This is an opportunity for a practicing general practitioner with an interest in infection to contribute to our national programme of quality improvement interventions to support ongoing optimisation of antibiotic use across community settings.

SAPG GP representatives are expected to undertake the following commitments as part of their role:

  • Attend bi-monthly 2-hour meetings of SAPG Committee, via MS teams on a Tuesday afternoon and contribute to primary care perspective.

  • Contribute to consultations on SAPG guidance and requests from associated organisations eg NICE antimicrobial/infection guidance.

  • Attend two antimicrobial management team network events per year hosted by SAPG which are approved for CPD points by the Royal College of Physicians.

This role is appointed for an initial period of three years, with the option of extending the role by up to a further 3 years by mutual agreement.
