Vice Chair

This is an opportunity for a prescriber with knowledge, skills and experience in management of infection and antimicrobial stewardship to join the team at SAPG.  They will assist the Chair in providing leadership to SAPG and NHS Scotland in developing and delivering the AMS programme as part of the wider healthcare associated infection (HAI) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) agendas.

Vice Chair is expected to undertake the following commitments as part of their role:

  • Chair meetings of SAPG and national network events if the Chair is unable to attend, and will substitute for the Chair at other meetings where appropriate.

  • Participate in bi-monthly 2-hour meetings of SAPG Committee, via MS teams on a Tuesday afternoon.

  • Work with SAPG Chair, SAPG Project Lead and the SAPG secretariat to facilitate delivery of the SAPG work programme.

  • Attend two antimicrobial management team network events per year hosted by SAPG which are approved for CPD points by the Royal College of Physicians.

  • Participate in quarterly SAPG Project Board meetings via MS Teams.

This role is appointed for an initial period of three years, with the option of extending the role by up to a further 3 years by mutual agreement.
