Antifungal stewardship

We are working with clinical teams to develop good practice recommendations to optimise the use of antifungal medicines for patients with suspected fungal infections.

This work is currently focused with three specialty areas: Critical Care, Haemato-oncology and Respiratory Medicine. This is important to prevent unnecessary use of antifungal agents which can have harmful side effects and also to prevent development of antifungal resistance in key pathogens.
